An ASTHMA ACTION PLAN is a step-by-step plan developed with your health care provider to maintain good day-to-day asthma control. Asthma varies from person to person, so it will be YOUR guide for:
- Taking your medication(s)
- Avoiding asthma triggers
- Tracking and judging your level of symptom control (green, yellow and red zones)
- Responding to asthma symptoms
- Recognizing and treating an asthma attack
- Adjusting medications
- Seeking emergency care
(Mayo Clinic, 2014; NIH, 2014)
